MEET THE TEAM
DIRECTOR:
Kristin Fairweather
Kristin Fairweather creates films that examine how society views women, sometimes through the lens of joy, sometimes through unflinching analysis. Her work spans two distinct yet interconnected worlds: YA and coming-of-age narratives that celebrate female resilience, and hard-hitting documentaries that challenge systemic inequities.
A Sony Alpha Female Creator-in-Residence, Fairweather has directed five features across genres, including her recent Lifetime thriller "Breaking Girl Code." She's currently developing a YA feature with Broken Road Productions. Her documentary "American Mother," winner of the 2024 New York Women in Film and Television Ravenal Foundation Grant, investigates the lie that American mothers can "have it all" and the devastating consequences of this fantasy.
As a producer, Fairweather has championed critically acclaimed indies including "Future Weather" (Tribeca), "A Rising Tide" (Seattle), and "NAMOUR" (Los Angeles Film Festival). Her commercial work includes campaigns for American Airlines celebrating female aviation pioneers.
Fairweather's perspective is shaped by her Master's in Politics from the University of Pennsylvania and a decade as a political appointee. This political acumen infuses her storytelling with authenticity and urgency. She speaks regularly at film schools and panels nationwide, advocating for women's rights and authentic representation in media.
Her work has earned support from Film Independent, Gotham and Netflix. Whether crafting stories about teenage girls finding their voice or exposing maternal labor crises, Fairweather holds space for both celebration and activism, essential tools for living in a complex world.

POLITICAL CONSULTANT:
Rebecca Kirszner Katz
Rebecca Katz has over two decades shaping movement narratives at every government level. In both 2022 and 2024, she was behind the highest over-performances of any winning Democrat in a Senate battleground. This includes John Fetterman’s dramatic win while overcoming a stroke and $100 million of attack ads, and Ruben Gallego’s election as Arizona’s first Latino Senator.
Rebecca ran Democratic Leader Harry Reid’s War Room in the U.S. Senate, assisted with the planning and execution of the White House’s communications strategy for then-Judge Sonia Sotomayor’s confirmation to the Supreme Court, and helped Planned Parenthood fight back against the unprecedented assault on women’s health after Republicans assumed control of Congress.
